Ingram Micro Names New Leader for Cloud, Services

Ingram Micro has appointed Renee Bergeron, a 25-year IT services executive, as vice president, managed services and cloud computing, for the North America region. In this role, Bergeron will drive the Ingram Micro Services Division's growth strategy, which includes accelerating sales and business development efforts, and will expand and build upon the strengths and competitive differentiators found within the Ingram Micro Services Network, Ingram Micro Seismic services portfolio, and Cloud Conduit initiative and Advisory Council.
"Renee's expertise and experience in services, general management and information technology will be a driving force behind identifying and cultivating new opportunities within the Ingram Micro Services Division and Cloud Conduit initiative," says Keith Bradley, senior executive vice president and president, Ingram Micro North America. "IT services remain one of the fastest-growing market opportunities for distribution and the IT channel at large and is an area within the distribution industry that Ingram Micro will continue to invest in and lead."
AVAD Integration Strengthens Ingram Micro Consumer Electronics Division
Ingram Micro is strengthening its North American consumer electronics operations by integrating the AVAD custom installation and home automation unit into a larger division that includes DBL Distributing.
While the AVAD name and operating structure will be retained, the unit is now organized under the Ingram Micro Consumer Electronics Division, allowing AVAD and DBL Distributing to leverage best practices, market expertise and common processes. Customers and vendors will benefit from the larger organization's more efficient infrastructure and broader product portfolio. AVAD customers will have access to products and services currently offered by DBL Distributing and the core IT distribution business while vendors will be able to expand their reach to new customer segments and capitalize on cross-sell opportunities.
"With this change, we become the distributor with the broadest consumer electronics and home automation portfolio in the United States and Canada," says John Soumbasakis, senior vice president, strategic divisions, Ingram Micro North America. "The Ingram Micro Consumer Electronics Division is the only distributor to bridge the gap between CE and home controls. We're confident that our CE business is a long-term strategic differentiator and growth opportunity."

The expo also featured presentations from Ingram Micro's Joe McCrone, vice president, Gov/Ed and VAR West sales, who discussed recommendations for potential business opportunities; and Pam Markle, senior markets manager, who looked at developments in the K-12 space and offered tips for finding stimulus dollars. On the marketing side, Jennifer Anaya, social media expert and president, iD8 Marketing, talked about the importance of social media and how to use it to engage customers.
